Pakistan and Canada reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture, food security, trade
The discussion focused on expanding two-way agricultural trade, enhancing cooperation in livestock productivity and dairy development, canola-based animal feed, advancing agricultural biotechnology, and strengthening institutional collaboration with Pakistan’s emerging regulatory authority, the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA).
Canadian representatives appreciated Pakistan’s support in facilitating the reopening of the market for Canadian canola exports and highlighted growing opportunities for collaboration in food inspection systems, animal genetics, research, innovation, and investment.
Both sides also explored avenues for technical exchanges, capacity-building programs, and exposure visits for Pakistani officials to Canada.
Pakistan highlighted its newly approved agri-biotechnology policy and emphasized the importance of international partnerships to improve productivity, competitiveness, and value-added agricultural exports.
The meeting reflected the growing momentum in Pakistan–Canada agricultural relations and the shared commitment of both countries to promoting sustainable agriculture, food security, innovation, and mutually beneficial trade partnerships. ![]()
