Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research Rana Tanveer Hussain reviewed the progress of ongoing and proposed Public Sector Development Programmme (PSDP) projects
The Minister directed the concerned departments to accelerate ongoing projects, particularly those nearing completion, and address delays related to land, infrastructure, laboratories, and civil works.
Progress of key initiatives in oilseeds, olives, water management in barani areas, agricultural research, modern laboratories, and international cooperation projects was reviewed.
The Minister emphasized that development projects must demonstrate tangible impact, including improved productivity, greater value addition, enhanced exports, import substitution, capacity building and direct benefits for farmers.
Special emphasis was placed on strengthening the olive value chain, expediting ongoing initiatives, and ensuring better coordination among the Ministry, PARC, and other relevant institutions.
The meeting also reviewed proposed new development schemes and stressed that priority should be given to implementation-ready and high-impact projects aligned with national agricultural and food-security priorities.
