The Ministry of National Food Security & Research signed a letter of intent and a work plan with H.E. Nicolas Galey, the French Ambassador to Pakistan, to establish phytosanitary requirements for the export of seed potatoes from France to Pakistan. The documents were signed by Mr Amir Mohyddin, Secretary, Ministry of National Food Security and Research, and Dr Attaullah Khan, Director General, Department of Plant Protection, MNFS&R. These steps will further strengthen agri-cooperation between Pakistan and France.
The agreement aims to support crop production in Pakistan by ensuring access to certified seeds and safeguarding plant health. According to this plan, exports will be conducted in accordance with mutually agreed inspection, testing, and certification procedures to protect Pakistan’s agricultural biosecurity.
Pakistan also received an invitation from the French authorities to participate in the Paris International Agricultural Show, scheduled to be held from 21 February to 1 March 2026, and is one of the leading international events for the global agriculture sector.
