Scientists and supporting staff should focus on research work to bring new innovations in agro-livestock to make it more profitable and productive for small and poor farmers; Sikandar Bosan
Islamabad (March 02, 2017)……………. Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research has acknowledged the services and role of Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, Director (PR and Protocol) PARC for projection of PARC and Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFS&R) work and activities through electronic and print media, in a Farewell Party held in his honour on his retirement from PARC services, at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Islamabad. Minister further said that Sardar Ghulam Mustafa whenever came to his office, he brought just the matters of welfare of PARC employees and betterment of organization. On this occasion he urged the scientists and supporting staff to focus on research work to bring new innovations in agriculture to make it more profitable and productive for small and poor farmers.
Senior politicians, high level Govt officials, former Chairmen PARC, eminent scientists, media, PARC colleagues and farmers attended the ceremony.
Senior leader of Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Ex-Political Secretary to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Madam Naheed Khan also expressed her views. On this occasion she also highlighted the issue of NARC land. She said that the NARC is the largest agriculture research institution in the country and agriculture is the backbone of our country’s economy. She demanded from Govt to strengthen such institutions instead converting them into housing scheme. She mentioned here some contributions of NARC to our national agricultural research system such as to control bird flu in the country and to save poultry industry of Pakistan, development of new crops varieties, supply of germplasm of various commodities to national and international system, control of crops diseases, introduction of new farm machinery, solar technology and many other new innovations to improve production of agriculture sector to ensure food security in the country.

Later on Federal Minister NFS&R and Chairman PARC have presented shields to him on his outstanding performance and particularly his role for projection of PARC and MNFS&R activities through media. Speakers expressed at occasion that the gap made by Sardar Ghulam Mustafa’s retirement could not be filled easily.
